The Different Ways to Share Your Timeshare

Timeshare are joint ownerships of a vacation property. It comes in a form of a lease that is held by several people. These people take turns in occupying the premises for fixed and specific periods.

People sell their timeshare ownership for a lot of reasons. Some do it as an investment and hold on to it until its value goes up. Some are simply tired of vacationing to the same place over and over again and would want to purchase a new one in an entirely different place.

2. Team up with a third party. Actually when somebody says, "I want to sell my timeshare", what he really meant is, "Sell my timeshare for me". They do not want to experience the hassle or the wheeling and dealing of a timeshare sale. What they do is they just leave it upon the third party company to facilitate the sale for them.

3. Advertise in real estate magazines, newspapers, and newsletters. Offline sources are ideal as well. People who are real property enthusiasts and business dealers would surely maintain a regular subscription of printed materials that touches on real estate. Choose the magazine that is the authority in the field.

4. Do hard selling. If you have friends and family members that are interested in your timeshare, maybe you can just call them as ask them if they are interested. Or they may know of people who wanted to purchase it instead. This can be a long process and is only advisable if you are not in a rush to sell the property.

5. Settle for an exchange. There are instances that you wanted to sell your timeshare and buy another. For these cases, maybe an exchange is more feasible. Check out the list of people who are selling their own timeshares. Look for the location and property you desire. Try calling the person and see if you can strike a deal with them that involves the exchange.

6. Try an online auction site. E-bay is the most influential auction site today. Try listing your timeshare with them. Anyway, doing this is for free. E-bay surfers who wanted to buy a vacation timeshare will surely find yours and will bid on it, especially if it is reasonably priced.

Selling your timeshare entails a lot of work and technicalities, even if you commission a free agent to do all the work for you. There are taxes to be considered, commissions, and appraisal fees to note about.
